THE ORIGINAL C20 SERUM
In 2009, the only places you could purchase L-Ascorbic Acid (LAA) serums were at dermatologists or spas. The problem was by the time you would buy a bottle it had been sitting on shelves or made so long before the purchase, it would spoil. Worse, a bottle of LAA serum cost over $129. Most were $150. The biggest problem was the serums were oxidized/spoiled and inert from selling in retail locations.
Terry Ulick, founder of NuFountain, heard his wife say she had went to her dermatologist, paid $129 for a bottle of LAA serum only to bring it home and find it was orange in color and smelled rancid like hot dog water. She was looking forward to using it, but knowledgeable of skin care products she knew it would harm her skin. Terry asked why she didn’t return it. She explained that once opened, the doctor wouldn’t accept returns.
Studying the ingredients, Terry decided to make her some fresh serum himself. Obtaining all the needed chemistry, he made her a bottle of ”C20” — his brand name for his freshly made serums. She was amazed. It was clean, clear, had no odor, and did exactly what LAA is known for: Create healthy new skin cells over time.
Coming from a self-help, empowerment product background, Terry asked her the pivotal question: “What do people who can’t afford $129, but need LAA serum do? If they have skin problems, it must be hard to go to work, a date, or just feel good looking the mirror. What about them?” They looked at each other and agreed that not all people who needed the benefits of LAA serum could afford it — or even knew about it.
Aware of the fledgling Amazon site, he realized that retail was not the way to sell LAA serum as it absolutely needed to be made fresh when purchased. He decided to put a listing for C20 — a pure, made-fresh-when-ordered bottle of LAA serum — on Amazon. He made them and shipped them the day when ordered so people could have healthy skin by using serum that was fresh — not spoiled and smelling like bacon.
He was also determined to expose the greed of LAA serum brands charging over $100 a bottle by pricing the C20 Classic product line between $20 and $30.
That was the start of the mass market of real, freshly made vitamin C serums made from LAA and inexpensive to purchase. No paying $200 for a doctor visit to get serum. No $150 for oxidized serums. C20 changed everything. LAA serums became easy to get, and affordable for all people.
WHY WE DO NOT SELL ON AMAZON
Since bringing C20 serums to buyers, after the formula being showcased on the Dr. Oz show, over 2,000 “marketers” of supposed vitamin C serums saw the amazing impact and success of NuFountain serums and the C20 brand name. They rapidly placed what they claimed to be “vitamin C serum” on Amazon.
Those companies do not make serums. They use private label suppliers using barrels of gunk from China that doesn’t contain any L-ascorbic acid — the only clinically established real vitamin C.
Taking the easy path, there are now 1000’s of what are termed “esters,” which contain no LAA but are synthetic salts claiming to ”stimulate“ LAA production in skin. The problem is that is only a claim, with no proven clinical trials or proof. By FDA and FTC law, serums containing only esters such as SAP (sodium ascorbyl phosphate) or anything other than LAA is NOT a vitamin C serum as it contain no vitamin C. Only LAA is vitamin C.
With more than 2,000 listings of ester serums claiming to be “vitamin C serums,” Amazon is allowing marketers to lie and state their products are vitamin C. That is unforgivable. It’s your skin they are harming with false claims.
NuFountain has left Amazon to present accurate and legally correct product descriptions, educate buyers, and provide a safe place to get real skin care.
Esters, as reported in thousands of real user reviews on Amazon, can cause severe skin damage and irritation, NuFountain is also advocating the correct labeling of vitamin C serums in all marketing.
NuFountain no longer uses the term “vitamin C serum” to describe its products as the term has been corrupted by unethical and uneducated marketers. NuFountain now precisely labels its serums “L-ascorbic acid serum” to reassure buyers they are getting real vitamin C in their serum.
The NuFountain Corporate web site, and the C20store web site are dedicated to educating buyers that beautiful skin starts with healthy skin care. LAA serum is the most essential skin care product possible as it is a skin identical, natural, extracted from non-GMO plants, providing LAA as produced by the body to topically supplement the loss of this essential skin produced vitamin due to UV damage from sun exposure.
NuFountain serums contain no preservatives, pioneered the use of B3, and deliver skin identical ingredients your skin needs to be healthy — and glorious.
